1935 Hitchcock Thriller ‘The 39 Steps’ Screens At Port Logan This April

The Team at Port Logan Cinema, Wigtownshire, Dumfries and Galloway, asked the audience at their last screening to select the last film for their SCOTTISH SEASON from a shortlist of old classics... and the clear favourite was THE 39 STEPS (The original 1935 Hitchcock version).

While on vacation in London, Canadian Richard Hannay (Robert Donat) becomes embroiled in an international spy ring related to the mysterious “39 steps.” Then he meets agent Annabella Smith (Lucie Mannheim), who is soon killed in his apartment. He must elude the police, who are hunting him for murder, while he tries to stop Professor Jordan (Godfrey Tearle) from sending secrets out of the country. Hannay is assisted by Pamela (Madeleine Carroll), an unwilling accomplice who discovers the truth.

There will also be a screening a little known Laurel & Hardy short with a Scottish theme to precede the main feature… and be serving ICE CREAM SUNDAES in the interval!

7th APRIL 8pm / Doors open 7.30pm.
