Katy Ewing is New Writer in Residence at Oxfam Bookshop – Dumfries

The Team at Oxfam – Dumfries area delighted to announce that Katy Ewing has agreed to take on the role of Writer in Residence  in the Bookshop.

Place Writing rooted in Deep Mapping is a huge part of Katy’s work and she’ll be working on an expansive collaborative project around Dumfries.

Rory Fairweather Bookshop Manager told DGWGO “Katy is a talented writer who researches many facets of her subjects before putting together beautiful and enchanting works. It’s great for Oxfam Dumfries to have a writer of her calibre on board” – Rory Fairweather, Manager
As part of our ART BEATS POVERTY summer programme, we’re looking to put on workshops and readings which will give us all a chance to hear Katy reading and to participate ourselves.
For a taste of Katy’s work, here’s a video: >> https://vimeo.com/223891114\ << We recorded the sound here in the shop last year. The project is part of a shared exploration of local mythology with her mother, artist Sheila Mullen. I dare you not to be drawn in.”
