Triumphant Tristan Hugh-Jones from Loch Ryan Oysters, Stranraer, Dumfries and Galloway will represent Scotland at the ‘World Oyster Opening Championships’ in Galway this weekend.
Tristan won the the Seafood Scotland Scottish Oyster Shucking Championships, held at the First Stranraer Oyster Festival on Saturday September the 16th 2017.
Organised by Seafood Scotland and hosted by Guinness World Record holder, Patrick McMurray, Tristan competed against fellow shuckers from across Scotland including Gleneagles, Ubiquitous Chip, City of Glasgow College, Henrys Bay House, Glenapp Castle and Islay Oysters, to be crowned Scottish Oyster Shucking Champion 2017.
