Alabama 3: Acoustic and Dumfries-Bound in October!

You may associate Brixton band Alabama 3 with moody track ‘Woke Up This Morning’ that became the theme song to The Sopranos.  But they are set to perform there special acoustic & unplugged show at ‘The Venue’ in Dumfries this October.

A group that blend a rich array of music styles and genres into one big sonic melting pot, Alabama 3 will perform a stripped back acoustic show in Dublin this summer, featuring three members from the band including Larry Love (vocals), Rock Freebase (guitar), and Harpo Strangelove (harmonica).

With a vast back catalogue of studio albums to choose from that traverse a myriad of blues, country, electro and trip-hop Alabama 3’s acoustic show brings a whole new dimension to the songs made famous by Alabama 3. This isn’t acid house music, this is country/gospel/delta blues, but played with a rhythm you’ve still got to dance to.

By performing in this stripped down acoustic way the band’s aim was to show the songs in a format reminiscent of the people that have been their inspiration, chiefly the old Delta Blues players like Fred MacDowell and Bukka White.

22nd October – The Venue, Dumfries

Tickets available via Skiddle.
