Carlisle Country Music Festival Announced for 2022

Over the weekend of 13th to 15th of May 2022 an impressive collection of the very best Country acts in the UK will come together for the first Carlisle Country Music Festival. If one good thing is to come out of the pandemic this could be it!

A spokesperson for the festival said “The idea for a Country Music festival in Carlisle has been floating around for a few years but has never quite come to fruition…until now. The coronavirus pandemic lockdown provided the opportunity for a brand-new event to be organised in the city. After a few frantic months of organisation during Covid19 lockdown the Carlisle Country Music Festival finally became a reality.

The venue for this, the first Carlisle Country Music Festival, is the impressive Edwardian styled Crown & Mitre Hotel, situated in the historic quarter of the city. The hotel is used to hosting such events, it is also the home to the city’s highly respected Blues/Rock Festival.  The new festival will take over the hotel and make all of its 90 rooms available at discounted room rates for exclusive Package Deals.

The whole event, in this the first year, will be held indoors and will focus around one main stage, a purpose-built construction within the magnificent hotel ballroom, perfectly suitable, not only for the high-calibre of the acts which will be performing over the weekend but also for the viewing audience.

This new festival will be a special experience for an audience who will be sure to enjoy a supercharged atmosphere in an up close and intimate setting.

Carlisle isn’t known for being a stronghold of country music but this event could change that, it may well bring the City in line with much of the rest of the UK already enjoying the groundswell of Country popularity.

Geographically the historic city is an ideal location for the event, it is central to Edinburgh, Glasgow, Leeds, Liverpool, Manchester, Middlesbrough, Newcastle, Dumfries and Galloway and York, serviced by the West Coast rail line and the M6, both of which run through the city.
