Peek ‘Through The Looking Glass’ To See EDEN Festival Childrens Theme for 2017

Eden Festival has announced this year’s theme for the Children’s Arena will be ‘Through the Looking Glass’ a nod to Alice and Wonderland – You and your family can immerse yourselves into the whimsical world of make believe and magic this summer, in June.

Scotland’s second largest music festival of 2017 will be returning to the Raehills Meadows of Dumfries and Galloway from the 8 -11th  June. Hosting twelve different stages with 300 performers, Eden Festival really does cater for all.  Eden hosts an eclectic mix of music and stages; whether you want to relax in the hammocks and dip your toe in the water, hang out in auld Celtic drinking dens, get the kids involved in games and crafts sessions, or take part in a paint fight whilst meeting amazing like minded individuals, then Eden Festival is for you.

Eden Festival has free activities for children of all ages, starting with several workshops in the craft tent where they will be making giant smiles, hearts, mad hatters top hats, carnival puppets, flags banners and much more for the Sunday family parade.

Older children can enjoy large puppet making workshops with Inspiral Arts, and they can get their hands dirty with forest skills sessions, make new friends with Speed Meeting and Dungeons and Dragons, and find their inner craftsperson with the festival’s stone masonry, carpentry and ironmongery workshops.

For our really little festival goers, Eden Festival will be offering messy play sessions, clay creatures, yoga and song time; as well as providing a tent full of toys for free play. They even have a dedicated space for babies for nappy changing, feeding or simply taking time out from the festival activities.

There’s so much to choose from and it doesn’t stop there, children of all ages can enjoy the Mad Hatters Tea Party, Drive in Cinema, a treasure hunt, storytelling and puppet shows as well as creative dance and drama sessions, get their face painted and learn circus skills.

Sara Best , Children’s Programmer– “This year we have an even fuller programme than last year with many new and exciting workshops planned, what’s great as well is that we offer these activities at no extra cost to the parent once they are on site, so making it affordable for most families. I can’t wait, it’s set to be an exciting weekend, a time for you to relax and enjoy Eden Festival with your children in a safe environment.’
