There are many neighbourhoods across Britain that are great for walking, So http://www.ramblers.org.uk have launched their first ever Britain’s Best Walking Neighbourhood award to celebrate them and Dumfries DG1 have been shortlisted in the top 10.
A Spokesperson for Ramblers.org.uk said “We asked people to nominate their favourite neighbourhoods to walk in, and we’ve put together a shortlist of ten of the best. You can ake a look at the shortlist and cast a Vote for your favourite using the voting form at the bottom of the page.”
H June Drennan contacted DGWGO and told us about the nominations, she said “Great news Dumfries has been shortlisted for an award. Voting on Britain’s Best Walking Neighbourhood Award is now live until 14 March.
