Galloway Glens Summer Programme of Events Launched

The Galloway Glens Scheme is five years of activity with the aim to ‘connect people to their heritage’, supporting economic development and sustainable communities in the Ken/Dee valley.

One of the Scheme’s headline projects is called ‘Community Activities’ and covers a wide range of activities and events which support this aim. This week the programme of Summer 2019 events is published, with the full details available in hard copy from a variety of locations and online.

Items on the programme include archaeological skills training sessions, guided walks, partner events and the Galloway Glens team bringing fun activities and information to established events such as the Stewartry Show in August.

Launching the Summer Events programme, Helen Keron, Education & Community Engagement Officer, said:

There really is something for everyone in this summer programme, and most events are free to book. If you have any queries about an event, would like more information or want to put your name down, please contact me on [email protected]

McNabb Laurie, Galloway Glens Team leader, added:

The work of the Galloway Glens Scheme, supported by a generous grant from the National Lottery Heritage Fund and a range of partners, varies from capital build projects through to education initiatives and activities. The launch of this Summer programme of events allows us to get out and meet people, both through our own dedicated events but also, and of equal importance, supporting established events and activities.
