Kirkcudbright Gets Set For Action Packed Parade Weekend

Once again the team behind Kirkcudbright Summer Festivities are preparing for another action packed weekend which kicks off tonight Thursday the 15th of August with another Scottish Night at 7pm in the Harbour Square. Entrance is free.

Tonights event welcome’s more talented young musicians in Feis Rois from Dingwall. This group of young people are the most talented traditional musicians in their age group in Scotland. They are joined by the Kay Alexander Highland Dancers, the Kathleen Barber Country Dances, Annan Town Band and Kirkcudbright and District Pipe Band.

Friday the 16th of Augest see’s – Maggie’s Tour of Old Kirlcudbright @ 7.00pm, Free to attend. A tour like no other. Prepare to be entertained by Maggie with stories of witches, ladies of ill repute and many more characters.

Saturday the 17th see’s Kirkcudbrights Grand parade and Rotary Fun Day
From 11am, Free to attend.
A brightly coloured celebration of fun and imagination! The day starts at 11am in the Harbour Square and Moat Brae with children’s rides, slides and entertainment running all day. Parade starts at 2pm and parades throughout the town centre.

Sunday the 18th of August  see’s the  Rotary Club Duck Race @ high tide- approx 2pm
Enjoy the spectacle of hundreds of ducks being released into the Harbour and racing to the finish line. Great for all the family.
