International Dark Sky Calendar Features D&G

A photograph of Loch Ken in Dumfries and Galloway ( Main Image ) has been selected as the November image in a prestigious publication from the International Dark-Sky Association

THE beautiful starry skies of Galloway have been recognised by the Dark Sky governing body and will feature alongside some amazing astrophotography from around the world.

The calendar is available from the IDA via their Darksky.org website which is a not-for-profit organisation based in Arizona, dedicated to preserving and promoting dark skies.

Dave Currie, of Galloway Photography, who took the image of “Loch Ken Stars” said, “I was overjoyed to hear my image had been included in the IDA Calendar.

Our Dark Sky Park here in Galloway is a wonderful asset for the area and is as good as any around the world. I’m proud to be given the opportunity to showcase it on an international platform like this.”
