£3,500 Worth of Farm Animals Stolen – Newton Stewart

Police Scotland is investigating the theft of livestock valued at over £3,500 from a field at Barrachan, Newton Stewart sometime between Thursday 10 and Monday 14 November 2016. The livestock consisted of 49 Texel lambs, about seven months old, two Jersey bullocks, three Friesian bullocks and a Swiss red bullock.

Sergeant Greg Hawker at Newton Stewart said “clearly a large vehicle or trailer must have been used in this theft. This is the second theft of livestock in the west of the region over the past week and we are asking the public to be alert to any suspicious activity in the countryside and to report it at the time through the 101 number.”
