The Blackface Sheep Breeders’ Association has made a considerable donation to the charity RSABI.
RSABI is among various charities to benefit from the sale of a quad bike donated by Suzuki to the Blackface Sheep Breeders’ Association. The Association added to the donation with further funds from the organisation.
President of the Blackface Sheep Breeders’ Association Alec Telfer explains why they made the donation. He said: “We fully appreciate all that RSABI does and are delighted to be in the position to help in these difficult and challenging times when there is such a huge call on their services.”
RSABI provides emotional, practical and financial support to people in Scottish agriculture. The charity runs a helpline – 0300 111 4166 – which is open every day of the year from 7am to 11pm. They also offer a call out service for the lonely and vulnerable, with demand for this increasing during lockdown last year.
RSABI Chief Executive Nina Clancy said: “We’re very grateful to the Blackface Sheep Breeders’ Association and their members for donating such a generous sum to RSABI.
“Fundraising was challenging for us last year as we had to cancel our annual Great Glen Challenge. The generosity of the industry and organisations like the Blackface Sheep Breeders’ Association has helped tremendously.
“This donation will help us to provide vital support services to people in the Scottish agricultural industry.”
The Blackface Sheep Breeders’ Association also support RSABI by giving annually through the charity’s Supporter Scheme. Individuals can join the scheme from £2 a month.
