8000 gns For Champion Galloway Bull Troloss Legend at Wallets Marts

Wallets Marts Castle Douglas Limited staged their Annual Spring Show and Sale of Pedigree Galloway Cattle on behalf of the Galloway Cattle Society on Friday 16th of February 2018

A packed ringside of breed enthusiasts from all over the United Kingdom and Germany were in attendance from what proved to be a very successful event.  At the show in the morning the cattle were very ably judged by Mr Alistair Cormack, Lower Largs.  He found his female Champion in the form of Carley 1st of Troloss, an April 2016 born heifer shown by Troloss Farms, Elvanfoot and later selling for 3500 guineas to Hors Kraft, Germany.  Reserve Champion was an unled heifer from R McTurk, Barlaes with Barlaes with Barlaes Nancy 167th which sold for 2700 gns also to Hors Kraft.

Overall Male Champion also came from Troloss Farms and was Troloss Legend, a February 2016 born bull which later sold from 8000 gns to Messrs Wareham, East Sussex – Reserve Champion was Maximillian of Balgray from D & R Cornthwaite, Balgray which made 4000 gns to Messrs McCornick, Barquhill.  Top priced bull was Kirkstead Yeoman from RA McClymont & Son and sold to 10,000 gns to Messrs Pattinson, Hexham.  Top priced heifer at 5500 gns was Blackcraig Bertha X664 selling to new breeders Messrs Cowie, Polston Farm, Maryculter.
