STORE LAMBS AND GIMMERS
Wallets Marts Castle Douglas on Saturday 27th August 2022 held their annual sale of Scotch Mule gimmers and store lambs with a total of 4962 sheep forward
At our annual show we must thank Mr J Foulkes, Marchynys, Anglesey for judging and also to sponsors Solway Agriculture. Champion pen today was a pen from Messrs McKie, Finniness selling at £222. Topping today though was £225 from Ryan Ferguson, Craigton Dairy House for his show gimmer.
Overall 2232 Scotch Mule Gimmers averaged £181.13 -£1.63 on the year for 276 less sold. Other breed gimmers sold well topping at £250 for Millenium Bleus from Messrs McDermid, Waterside.
A massive 2486 Store lambs continued to sell well selling to a top of £99 on two occasion for Suffolks from Messrs Cumming, Barnsallie and for Beltex from Messrs Sturgess, Cullinaw with the overall average £82.27.
