WEEKLY PRIMESTOCK SALE
Could we please ask that Vendors get sheep to the Market as early as possible on a Tuesday morning. Clipping is from 8.00am onwards and we would like if sheep were available for them to start at that time.
Wallets Marts Castle Douglas Limited held their weekly sale of 2279 Prime lambs and cast sheep on Tuesday 1st December 2015.
2000 prime lambs sold to average 162.36 (SQQ 167.4). All classes of lambs sold sharper again on the week with all classes keenly bid for.
Lambs today sold to a top of £80.50 for a beltex lamb from Messrs Campbell, Carsewalloch, top price per kilo was 188.2 for a pen on tremendous beltex lambs from Messrs Craig, Compstonend.
279 cast sheep sold to £112 for a Blueface Leicester ram from Millburnbank. Ewes to £96 for texels from Barnbackle, Blackface ewes to £57.50 from Falbae.
