Scottish National Farmers Union President, Andrew McCornick from Dumfries and Galloway, is the subject in the first of two podcasts recorded at NFU Scotland’s two day Conference, AGM and Annual Dinner earlier this month
The OnFarm podcast team, presented by Scene and Herd Director Anna Davies, were at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Glasgow’s city centre to record not one but two episodes of their increasingly popular Scottish farming podcast.
The first episode – which is out now and can be listened to at www.on-farm.co.uk or downloaded from the Apple Podcast app and Spotify – focusses around the key subjects on everyone’s lips at this year’s AGM including seasonal workers, climate change, veganism, geese and many more.
This week’s episode has a one on one interview with NFU Scotland President Andrew McCornick, in which he discusses where the industry is now and where he sees its direction of travel.
Next week’s episode, also from the AGM, very much focusses on rural Scotland and the many ways in which farmers are working together, and with scientists, to tackle climate change.
Featuring NFU Scotland Climate Change Policy Manager, Ruth Taylor; Mike Robinson, Chief Executive of the Royal Scottish Geographical Society; and Nigel Miller, former NFUS President and member of the Farming for 1.5 Degrees Climate Change Inquiry Group, the episode talks about targets, practices and commitment as the farming sector puts climate science at the centre of its activity.
