Family fun at Open Farm Sunday – Ernespie Farm Castle Douglas

Open Farm Sunday is back at Ernespie Farm, Castle Douglas this weekend Sunday June 10th at 10.30am-3.00pm and it promises to be a fun day out for all of the family.

Following the success of open farm Sunday 2016 and 2017 the McMiken family are once again opening the doors of Ernespie Farm to the public. There is lots planned for the day and it guarantees to be fun free day out for all of the family.

Open Farm Sunday is your chance to come and experience a working farm. There are many activities organized for the day including food sampling, milking demonstration, tractor and trailer rides, a walking farm quiz and animal feeding.

 

Grierson’s Butchers from Castle Douglas will be providing a tasty BBQ lunch, the proceeds of this will be donated to the ‘Health and wellbeing in the farming community project’. This is a newly established social group designed for people to capture and share memories of their farming days. The group is open to anyone who has retired from an agricultural background, including people with memory loss. The group is run in conjunction with Alzheimer Scotland and Life Changes Trust.
