Over £700 Raised At Young Farmers Scott Carson Memorial Cup Football Match

On Thursday 19th April Stewartry Young Farmers held their Annual Charity Football Match in memory of Scott Carson.

A spokesperson for the club told DGWGO “This year we opened it up to the District and turned the event into an East V West Match.
We saw Stewartry, Stranraer and Machars play against Lower Nithsdale, Annandale and Thornhill. In the end West came out on top winning 2-0 to win the Trophy!”

“We would like to thank the Saints for kindly donating St Mary’s Pitch, Kirkcudbright  for the evening, Scott Carson’s Family for presenting the Trophy to our winning team, Tom MacTaggart and Megan Forsyth for organising the match, all the players who took part in the game, Paul McGinley for refereeing the match and finally everyone who kindly donated! The total raised last night was £708.31!!!

Stewartry Young Farmers next event is our annual Dairy Stock Judging which will be held at Bishopton Farm, Kirkcudbright, DG6 4TJ by kind permission of the Dunlop Family on Monday 7th May, 7 for 7:30pm start. We look forward to seeing you all there!
