TARFF VALLEY CYCLE CHALLENGERS RAISE WHOPPING £4150 FOR SICK KIDS CHARITIES

Coast to Coast via Tarff Valley Cycle Challenge

Back in September 2015 two intrepid friends , 41 year old Tommy Patterson from Castle Douglas  and  45 year old Steven Ritchie from Newton Stewart completed a 209 mile coast to coast cycle Challenge across Britain to raise money for Sick Kids Hospitals in Glasgow and Manchester.

The two keen cyclists covered the 209 miles from Stranraer to Berwick upon Tweed while stopping at 8 Tarff Valley depots along the route in 2 days, and raised an amazing £4150 to be split between  Yorkhill Childrens Hospital in Glasgow  where young ‘Zara Elliot’ a work mate of Stevens grandaughter has been undergoing chemotherapy for a ‘Neuroblastoma rare form of cancer and Royal Manchester Childrens Charity where Stevens niece ‘ 11 year old Megan Bradley’ has been having treatment for Congenital Talipes  Equinovarus (Club Foot).

Steven said ” I think I speak for us both when I say I would like to firstly thank each and every person who gave sponsors and donations so generously. Your support and encouragement before, during and since we finished has been very humbling and made the 209 mile journey worthwhile. Special thanks also goes to Sandra Ritchie and Kelly McKnight Patterson”
