Teresa Dougall has joined NFU Scotland as regional manager for Dumfries and Galloway.
Teresa, who started with the Union on Monday 4 May, comes to the post from Scottish Land and Estates where she worked for eight years covering the south west and south east of Scotland. During her career Teresa has previously worked with many famers and land-based businesses within the region and is aware of the challenges facing local farmers and landowners.
NFU Scotland Chief Executive Scott Walker commented: “Within the Union, regional managers play an important role – together with our group secretaries they are the first port of call for members who have problems or need advice. They are the face of the Union within their region.
“Teresa will be a fantastic asset to NFU Scotland, supporting our members within Dumfries and Galloway and working with our local group secretaries to drive regional activity and events.
“Teresa joins an organisation where everyone is passionate about Scottish farming and ensuring that our members’ voices are heard wherever decisions are being made that affect Scottish agriculture and farm based businesses.”
Teresa Dougall, NFU Scotland’s new regional manager for Dumfries and Galloway commented: “I am looking forward to meeting and speaking with members within the region to understand more about the issues being faced and how, as an organisation, we can do more to help them on the ground when dealing with these.
“I aim to work with the regional representatives to increase the visibility of the Union within and around Dumfries and Galloway to ensure that our members’ views and opinions are heard by all.
“I look forward to progressing ongoing and new local initiatives which will benefit our members and seek to showcase the hard work that is a constant within the membership.”
