Wallets Marts Castle Douglas Limited on Saturday 2nd October 2021 held their annual show and sale of spring born suckled calves where 929 were forward.
Trade was absolutely on fire and many more could have been sold to Vendors advantage with a new centre record of £2000 for a lovely sweet heifer from Mr E McNeil, Shennanton.
A tremendous show of Spring born calves were forward and the entry up 200 on the year this drew buyers from a wide area. The entry being almost 400 up on 2 years ago was a huge credit to the Vendors and calves were shown in great bloom.
The annual show was expertly judged by Mr William Millar from Wigtown, Cumbria and he made the following awards
