Wallets Marts Weekly Primestock Report Tuesday 29th December 2020

Wallets Marts Castle Douglas Ltd on Tuesday 29^th December 2020 had some 2009 prime and cast sheep forward for the final sale of 2020.

 

1722 prime lambs sold to average 232.4 (SQQ 237.7). Topping the sale today was export weight Beltex lambs from Messrs McConnell, Gass, Glenluce at £120. These also topped the pence per kilo at 279.1. Heavy weights sold to £114 from Messrs McKie, Finniness. Blackface lambs topped at £100 for a belting pen from Messrs Ramsay, Knockreoch, Dalry. Topping the pence per kilo was a light weight pen at 248.6 from Messrs Frame, Burnside, Strathaven. Closely followed by a pen of 39 from Drannandow Farms at 246.2.

 

Cast ewes were a steady trade selling to £123 for a Millenium Bleu Tup from Farhills, ewes topped at £111 for Texel crosses from Blackpark, Crocketford. Scotch Mules sold to £96.50 from Blackpark, Crocketford, and Blackface ewes sold to £72.50 from Culdoach.
