Wallets Marts Castle Douglas Limited on Tuesday 29^th June 2021 had forward 1084 prime and cast sheep.

904 Prime lambs sold to average 245.6 (SQQ 246.75).

All classes were a steady trade and similar to Monday. Meat is key and these lambs sold at a premium best-bred lambs were in short supply and many more of all classes could have been sold to advantage.

Top today was £120 for heavy Texels from Messrs Williamson & Ross and 286.6ppk for a pen of Beltex from Gelston Castle.

Cast sheep were a sharper trade all round selling to £170 for Texel Ewes from Denty Texels with Rams to £133 from Dornells Estate.
