Wallets Marts Castle Douglas Limited held their fortnightly sale of store and OTM Cattle on Monday 6 July 2020.
A poorer show of OTMs met another fantastic trade to average a marvellous 144.64ppk and sold to £1293.52 from Messrs Lindsay, Culnaightrie and to 182ppk from Messrs McKie, Finniness.
Young bulls sold to 200ppk from Lochside.
An average quality show of Store cattle met strong demand and more could definately have been sold to vendors advantage.

WEEKLY PRIMESTOCK SALE
A marvellous entry of 1556 sheep including 249 ewes were forward.
Trade was on fire to average a massive 234 ppk SQQ.
Many more could have been sold to an increased ringside of customers.
A good show of lambs were forward and sold to a top of £120 from Messrs Nicholson, Bombie and 282.9 ppk from Messrs Wilson, West Barmoffity, both showing Texels in good bloom. Mules sold to 220 ppk from Hannaston, Dalry.
A much larger show of ewes were forward with a trade fully £10 dearer on the week. Beltex ewes sold to £130 from Mid Croft and mule ewes sold to a massive £100 from Palmallet with plenty of mule ewes over £90.
