Wallets Marts Castle Douglas Limited on Monday 27 April 2020 had forward 1193 OTM and Store cattle.
A tremendous show of cattle sold to a ringside of buyers eager for cattle, with buyers from Hereford to Aberdeen to the fore. Many more cattle could have been sold to advantage. 670 Bullocks Averaged 225.58p per kg and 499 Heifers averaged 215.97p per kg
673 bullocks sold to a top price per kilo of 292.2 for a pen of Limousins from Messrs Hansell Nether Barr, Corsock and top per head of £1290 for a pen of Angus bullocks from Messrs Wallace, Mains of Collin, Auchencairn
499 Heifers sold to a top per kilo of 272.7 for a pen of Charolais from Messrs Milroy, Kirranrae, Kirkcolm and to a top per head of £1180 for Limousin heifers from Mains of Larg Farmers, Mains of Larg, New Luce
29 OTM Cattle sold to a top of £1166.88 for A Simmental cow from Messrs McKinnel, Drumneil, Whauphill

Wallets Marts Castle Douglas Limited on Tuesday 28th April 2020 sold 489 prime and cast sheep.
311 prime hoggs sold to average 202.86 (SQQ 208.54).
Quality well finished hoggs of all breeds were easily sold selling to £106 from Craigview with Texels from Killochy topping per kilo at 228.3. Blackface hoggs sold to £92.50 for heavyweights from Barlaes with top per kilo being 216.5 from Kenmure, Dunscore, with a pen at 216.4 from Barlaes.
Cast sheep sold to £99 for Texels from Erncrogo with mules to £84.50 from Valleyfield and Blackface to £64.50 from Castlehill.
