Councillor Jeff Leaver, chair of the Children, Young People and Lifelong Learning Committee, said: “It’s really encouraging to see this event grow and develop year on year. This targeted girls only event supports our commitment to address inequalities and increase the number of young people becoming more active, healthier and confident individuals. Thank you to Andrea Haggerty for all her support and coaching, to all the umpires, and all the volunteers at clubs in local schools. Without their invaluable input, we couldn’t have events such as this.”
