9 YEAR OLD DUMFRIES KARTING ACE TAKES PODIUM FINISH AT LARKHALL

9 Year old Heathhall Primary pupil Kieran Conchie was on the podium for the 2nd week in a row this time at the West of Scotland Kart Club in Larkhall finishing in a close 2nd place.

Kieran secured good points throughout the 3 heats finishing 3rd, 4th and 1st in Honda class to start 2nd on the final grid. With a great start the Kieran grabbed the early lead with the 3 front drivers working together to finish over 6 seconds ahead of the chasing pack. With the lead changing several times Kieran brought it home in 2nd and scored strong points for the championship.

Kieran said “it was a really tough grid this weekend with drivers practicing for next months national NKF meeting so I knew I had to make up places and finish well in the heats to start on the front rows for the final. In the final I knew we needed to push away from the chasing pack and then fighting for the win on the last 2 laps”.

Kieran would like to thanks Andy from Clan racing, Russell from Sporting Warriors for his fitness programme and his sponsors Building Craftsmen Dumfries, Grierson&Graham Honda, Hire and Supplies, Dumfries Body Repair Centre and GeeGee Entertainments.
