Over 25 youngster take part in All Stars Cricket – Dumfries

More than 25 boys and girls attended the Dumfries Cricket Club All Stars Cricket programme on Monday, down at Dumfries Sports Club.

All Stars Cricket is a nationwide programme that is designed to inspire five to eight-year-olds to take up cricket and provide a great first experience of the game.

Putting fun right at the centre of this experience, All Stars Cricket aims to instill children with a lifelong love of cricket.

Club chairman, Andrew Reed said: “It is fantastic to see so many youngster taking part and enjoying cricket, we think it is a fantastic sport, and now we hope to pass that enthusiasm onto a new generation”
Activator Stuart Corbett-Byers added “It is great to get so many kids active and we think it is such a great programme we will run for the whole summer on Mondays. Our Junior session also runs on a Monday so transition between groups will be easy and amazing to see over 50 children running around out outfield”
