Away Win For Queens Ladies At Falkirk

Queens Ladies were on the road again on Sunday for a league fixture against Falkirk Ladies at the Falkirk Stadium.

The first half saw Queens playing some good football, buy without threatening the Falkirk goal too much.  Queens’ Sophie Ingram had to pull off a great save when a Falkirk striker managed to get one on one with the keeper, and the teams turned round with the scoresheet still blank.

Queens came out in the second half playing with more purpose, keeping possession well.  The Queens defence dealt well with everything Falkirk could throw at them.  It wasn’t until the 68th minute that Queens made the breakthrough that their play deserved, when Freya Brown cut in from the left and fired an unstoppable shot into the far corner.  Queens doubled their lead in the 76th minute when Charlotte Smith met a corner kick to score with a low drive.  Falkirk pulled a goal back with the last kick of the game despite the Queens defenders claiming for a clear offside.

Full time 2-1 to Queens, who have to travel again this Sunday when they take on Kilwinning Ladies in Ayrshire.
