St Michael’s Cricket Club, Dumfries will be running indoor cricket sessions over the next few weeks for existing and potential new players and members. Sessions will run for both senior and junior players, providing playing opportunities for all ages and abilities.
Senior Cricket
Senior cricket sessions will be held over a 4 week period on Tuesday 7th March to Tuesday 27th March 6.45-8.45pm at Dumfries Academy Gym Hall.
These will be hardball sessions with proper cricket balls, nets and a batting mat, and are aimed at anyone wishing to play 1st X1, 2nd X1, Sunday X1 or Midweek T20 cricket.
Each session costs only £5 (first sessions are free to potential new members) or you can decide to pay £20 up front and you will receive a free Saints playing shirt for the 2017 season.
Junior Cricket
Building for the future has always been a key strategy for our club, and these junior sessions will be held over a 6 week period on Tuesday 28th February – Tuesday 4th April 6-7pm at David Keswick Centre Gym Hall.
These will be softball sessions with Supaballs, Windballs, and tennis balls and are aimed at youngsters wanting to work on their technique in preparation for hardball cricket, or for those boys and girls who want to take up the game for the very first time and have lots of fun.
Having already really enjoyed hosting introduction to cricket sessions at Closeburn PS, Duncow PS, Dunscore PS, Penpont PS, and Wallacehall PS (and with plans already in place for sessions at nine schools in and around Dumfries this summer) we hope to see a number of new junior members take up our great game in 2017.
Each session costs only £2 (again, first sessions are free to potential new members).
