With only days to go before Queen of the South’s vital last game of the season a key member of the squad has undergone emergency surgery.

Dougie the Doonhamer’s tail was skillfully repaired by ardent Queens fan and veterinary nurse Zoe Clark. “Dougie was a brave lad but the surgery was tricky as he kept trying to jump off the operating table to give everyone high fives” said Zoe “We are happy with the results and all at Charnwood Veterinary Centre will be keeping our fingers crossed that he will be match fit for the big game against Partick
