Double Win At The Ice Bowl For The Hardie Family

As well as the Scottish Curling Championships held at Dumfries Ice Bowl last weekend, the Ice Bowl was also home to the Rotary Scottish Curling Championships for the Ramshead 2023.

Rotary Clubs from Scotland including representatives from Lockerbie, Kirkcudbright, Dalbeattie and Devorgilla Clubs attended for a thoroughly enjoyable weekend of good curling and fellowship with a team from Dumfries Devorgilla coming out on top to win the Ramshead for 2023 on home ice.

 

The Scottish finals is the qualifying event for the Rotary World Curling Championships. This Bi-annual competition is contested by teams representing America, Canada, Scotland and England. The next World Championships will be held in Peterborough, Canada in 2024.

Dumfries Devorgilla have won the trophy three times and this is the second time it has been held in Dumfries with the competition going back to 1956.
