Draw For Queens Ladies At Harmony Row

Queens Ladies and Harmony Row Ladies table-top clash at NWCC on Sunday ended in a draw.

But Queens will be regretting not taking all three points in a game where they took the lead in the 1st minute when Kirsty Macdonald was put through down the left and her low cross was fired home by Jordyn Gallagher.  Queens should have  pushed home their advantage but it was Harmony Row who got the next goal against the run of play in the 9th minute. However Queens took the lead again just 4 minutes later when Kirsty Macdonald raced into the box and shot across the keeper into the left hand corner.  Again Harmony row came back with their pacy striker outrunning the defence to equalise.  Harmony Row almost grabbed a third but a superb double save from Queens’ keeper Sophie Ingram kept them out.

The second half continued in the same vein with Queens becoming more and more desperate to grab the vital goal that would lift them level with Harmony row in the table going into the final 4 games.  Queens almost scored when Grace Gilmour powered through the defence to find herself one on one with the keeper, but her shot hit the junction of post and bar and rebounded out.  The game ended with Harmony Row timewasting to run down the clock, leaving Queens to rue their failure to put away their chances.

With 4 games to play, Queens lie 3 points behind Harmony Row and need to keep winning, scoring as many as possible to boost their goal difference while hoping that Harmony row have an off day.
