DUMFRIES KARTING ACE WINS IN WALES

9 year old Dumfries Karting Star Kieran Conchie was in Wales competing in the NKF Clubman Championship round 5 at The Glan Y Gors circuit last Weekend.

GYG is known as a very challenging technical track however, Kieran took no time to learn it on his first visit. Kieran thought it was all over on Sunday morning when he had been ill through the night but was determined not to give up. With a 1st, 4th and 2nd in the heats he scored enough points to earn pole position for the final. In the 12 lap final Kieran continued his strong consistent pace and took the win to end a strong weekend.

Below is a video of Kieran number 25 making up 16 places in the 7 lap 3rd heat:

Kieran told DGWGO sports news  “This was my first time racing at Glan Y Gors and I love the track. To have won never having been to the circuit made it extra special”.

He went on to say ” I almost ended up missing race day as I was ill through the night but after a walk with mum and some nice Welsh fresh air I felt a bit better and was determined to do well.”

Kieran would like to thank Andy of Clan Racing who mentored him through the heats to chequered flag in the final.

Kieran would like to thank Russell at Sporting Warriors for his fitness training, Craigsview Caravan&Trailer Centre and his sponsors who’s help has got him on the grid this season:
