Free Golf Lessons For Your Kids With D&G County Golf Club

Dumfries & County Golf club are about to embark on a new junior coaching scheme aimed at increasing participation in the local community.

The Stanley Morrison Charitable Trust have committed £7000 to Head PGA Professional James Erskine being undertaken assist develop and grown the game locally.

The PGA coaching team at The club will run 3 x 6-week blocks of coaching free of charge, this will take place indoors at the Lochar Thistle Football arena and will be completely free from January until April and also includes equipment.

The classes can cater for up to 40 children each evening. Each child will receive a passport and certificate for completing the programme. Assistant PGA Professional Jordan Brown will be organising and coordinate the programme.

Enrolment starts immediately, and the first block will commence on January 16th.

Once the kids have completed the programme they will be invited to play on our newly designed junior course and hopefully become future members. The Trust have also committed financial cover to run an Open event for up to 130 kids to participate in free of charge later in the year including coaching, food and entry fee.

Head Professional James Erskine is delighted with the generosity of the Stanley Morrison Family and is hopeful it will promote the sport and compliment the great work being undertake by Dumfries & County Golf club in attracting family’s to play.

The introduction of the New indoor facility and the commitment to developing the new junior course combined with our regular family days & free junior coaching only highlights the direction we are heading as a golf club.
