Dumfries Sports Club at Nunholm are holding a women only sports day in aid of the local charity Dumfries and Galloway Disability Sport. It takes place on Sunday, the 4th of Sep starting at 11am.
Individuals and teams of 5 people upwards are invited to join in. Amanda Creedon-Bass from the Sports Club said “The emphasis is on a fun few hours of activities which will give an opportunity to have a go at a variety of sports; netball, football, tennis, cricket, and hockey plus an obstacle course with prizes for the winning team and as importantly the best-dressed team. No experience is necessary, just bring your trainers and your friends.”
Sandra Proudfoot, Head of Delegation for the Special Olympics Team, said on behalf of Dumfries and Galloway Disability Sport that “it is great that the club are supporting us as a charity. We hope that the inspiration of the Rio Olympics and Team GB will inspire a few people to have a go and try some new activities. Appropriately the inspiration of the Paralympics for those we help will be starting in Rio the following Wednesday”.
Entries to the “Trainers On” event can be made by emailing [email protected] and sending in an entry fee of £30 per team, with all proceeds destined for D&G Disability Sport. More information can be found online at www.dumfriessrc.club .
