Locharbriggs Kart Racer, Kieran Conchie Shows Great Promise For 2018 Season

Eleven year old Locharbriggs Kart Racer, Kieran Conchie began the 2018 season at the weekend, showing great promise in his new class, finishing ninth out of 32 drivers at the challenging PF International Circuit in Lincolnshire.

Kieran had been due to compete in the national clubman Northern Karting Federation (NKF)championship in 2018. However due to unforeseen circumstances, the entire series was cancelled twoweeks ago and it was then a race against time to find an alternative. This resulted in an early jump into what had previously been his 2019 plan, to contest the tough ‘Little Green Man’ (LGM) Tour in the Mini X30 class, using a different engine manufacturer to the Honda power he’d become accustomed to.

Kieran told DGWGO sports News “It was a shock the NKF didn’t go ahead which meant jumping in at the deep end in the LGM on borrowed equipment and with only two days testing on the new kart, I knew it would be tough. However, the support of my new team, AMT Racing, helped get me a great result competing against racers up to fifteen years old who have had months of testing, so I’m really excited about the rest of the season”

This unexpected move has left the 2018 competition budget very stretched, and as a result Kieran is now looking to hear from potential additional sponsors if they can provide assistance for the rest of the season.

He would like to thank his existing 2018 sponsors for getting him on his way.
