Queens Ladies Stretch Lead With Victory Against Stewarton

Queens Ladies stretched their lead at the top of the Biffa SWFL (South) to 5 points when they inflicted a first league defeat of the season on Stewarton United Ladies on Sunday.  Queens opened the scoring in the 5th minute when Siobhan Hodgson headed home from a corner kick.  Queens dominated the play in the first half, with their passing game posing Stewarton problems.  Maisie Copland scored Queens’ second goal in the 21st minute, and Alexandra Connon put Queens three nil ahead in the 35th minute.  Maisie Copland got her second and Queens’ fourth shortly before half time.

 

The second half continued in the same vein and Queens added to their goal tally with a second half hat trick for Megan Hodgson (53, 73, 78), a second goal from Alexandra Connon (63) and goals from Abbie Dunlop (75) and Leona Smith (76).  In the end it was a comfortable win for Queens, with the final Score Stewarton United Ladies  0 Queen of the South Ladies 10.

 

This Sunday Queens are at home to Dalbeattie Star Ladies who currently sit in 9th place in the table.  Kick off at NWCC is at 1400hrs and admission is free.
