Queens Ladies Win Local Derby Tussle Against Dalbeattie

Queen of the South Ladies had a local derby against Dalbeattie Star Ladies on Sunday at NWCC.

With Queens topping the table with a 100% record in the league and Dalbeattie Star languishing near the bottom, it looked like a tough game for the visitors, and so it proved.

Queens opened the scoring in the 2nd minute and by half time they were leading 13-0, including a Siobhan Hodgson hat trick and 4 goals from Holly Ovens  Queens made some changes at half time but continued to dominate, with the game being played mainly in the Dalbeattie half.  Queens pounded the Dalbeattie defence and added a further seven goals, with striker Eve Jackson grabbing 5, to make the final score Queens 20 Dalbeattie 0.  A very good team performance by Queens and they now sit 8 points clear at the top of the league with half the fixtures completed.
