We are now looking for nominations from all areas of sports activities: whether as a competitor, a coach, a teacher, event organiser, an official or indeed as the volunteer behind the scenes who does all the work necessary to keep our local clubs functioning.”
Lead Officer for Active Schools and Community Sport, Calum Graham said “The sporting landscape in Annandale and Eskdale is arguably stronger in 2015 than it has been at any other time with local sport undoubtedly benefiting from some of the world’s largest sporting events being hosted in the UK in recent years. Only last month we saw Newington Primary in Annan winning the Scottish Sports Awards School of the Year.”
He added “These events have raised the profile of sport in schools, clubs and in the community with participation figures higher than ever before. This increased participation brings with it more teaching, more coaching, more volunteering, more competition and with it higher levels of performance. Now is your chance to recognise those who have made a significant contribution to sport in Annandale and Eskdale in 2015.”
