Stewartry Sharks are 25 years young in September this year. The club would love to celebrate this anniversary by bringing together as many past and present ‘Sharks’ as possible at Greenlaw, Castle Douglas on Sat 10th September.
Organiser Susan Hind told DGWGO ” It is hoped that ex Scotland international player ‘John Jeffrey’ will be able to join us as we took the ‘Shark’ name in honour of him.
Many players who have gone on to bigger things including playing for Scotland have started their rugby careers at Stewartry RFC – Joe Ansbro, Colin Duck, Ross Williams, Andrew Wilson, Stuart Fenwick, Alex Craig, Stafford McDowall and Lewis Young to name but a few.
We would love to hear from as many previous ‘Sharks’ as possible as well as coaches and are keen to gather as much memorabilia as possible – old photos, newspaper clippings, shirts etc
