Essential Woodland Maintenance On The A75 Between Springholm & Shawhead

Amey, on behalf of Transport Scotland as part of the Network Management Contract for the South-West Trunk Road Unit, are undertaking the essential removal of dangerous and diseased trees on the A75 between Springholm and Shawhead from Monday 20th March until Thursday 27th April 2023. This work will take place between 8am and 5pm, each day.

This scheme forms part of our Tree and Woodland Maintenance Management Strategy where we are taking essential steps to combat the effects of Ash Dieback along our road network. It benefits vehicles using this route each day, by improving the safety of the carriageway and reducing the risk that diseased trees pose to road users.

This work will be carried out using daytime temporary traffic lights. We thank road users for their patience and co-operation while this essential work takes place.

Access for emergency service vehicles will be maintained throughout these works.

Please note, all schemes are weather dependent and may be cancelled or rescheduled if weather conditions are not favourable.
