Road Safety & Maintenance Improvements On A75 Commence 24th May

Amey, on behalf of Transport Scotland as part of the Network Management Contract for the South West Trunk Road Unit, are undertaking essential road safety and maintenance works overnight on the A75, at several locations from Monday 24th May to Saturday 29th May 2021.

These schemes will take place between 8pm and 6am, each night, on A75 Mouswald Junction, A75 Carrutherstown and A75 East of Collin.

This work requires a night-time closure of A75 between Collin and Annan, with a signed diversion in place. However local access will be available to properties at all times.

Eastbound traffic will be diverted from the A75 at Brownrigg Roundabout onto the A709 towards Torthorwald. Diverted traffic will continue on the A709 through Lochmaben until Lockerbie where they will turn onto the B7076 before joining the B723 towards Annan. Once the diverted traffic reaches Annan, they will re-join the A75 via the B721.

The same diversion route shall be in operation in the opposite direction for westbound traffic.

Amey apologise in advance for any delays and advise motorists to anticipate extra time to complete their journey. It is anticipated that this diversion will add approximately fourteen minutes to the average journey between Collin and Annan.

Our operatives will follow strict physical distancing and hygiene protocols throughout the programme, in line with the Scottish Government’s COVID-19 guidance.

Please note, all schemes are weather dependent and may be cancelled or rescheduled if weather conditions are not favourable.
