Dumfries Y’s Development Gymnasts Pass Club Grades with Flying Colours

Gymnasts from Dumfries Y Gymnastics Club’s Development squad attended the Scottish Gymnastics NDP Club Grade Competition in Perth this weekend.

The group competed on Floor, Vault, Bars, Beam and completed Range and Conditioning routines.

All gymnasts successfully passed their Grades, with six gymnasts achieving Distinction and three achieving Commended.

Development Lead Coach, Rachael McGarva, said “The girls have trained hard for this competition. They arrived at the competition ready and focussed and the Club are exceedingly proud of them all for passing their grades with outstanding results”.

In the Club Grade 5 In Age competition Macey Byers placed 6th on Vault and Ella Walton placed 9th on Beam.

With all the Scottish Gymnastics Grades competitions over for the year, gymnasts are now training hard to perfect their moves and routines for competitions later in the year.

 

The Club will hold their Annual Club Championships at their premises in English Street in August.

 

With now over 320 members, Dumfries Y Gymnastics Club has Competitive, Development and Floor and Vault competitive squads as well as gymnasts in Boys, Recreational, Fun4Baby and Pre-School classes and their GymDance group.

 

The Club are looking forward to an exciting year ahead when the extension to their premises will begin.
