Cats Protection Stranraer & District is urgently seeking separate forever homes for Luna and Alba, two overlooked cats who have sadly received almost no interest since coming into the charity’s care.
Branch Coordinator, Sally Adam, said: “We’re desperate to find Luna and Alba the perfect homes in time for them to enjoy the summer months.

“Luna is estimated to be between four and five years old and has been with us for 115 days after originally being abandoned at Christmas. She was looked after by a kind member of the public before coming into our care.
“She has a quirky personality and is affectionate on her own terms. She is not a lap cat, but does enjoy short bursts of play and loves the company of her human companions.”
Luna would thrive in a quiet home as the only pet, with access to a safe, secure garden once she’s settled. She can be shy around men initially until she gets to know them.
11-year-old Alba’s owner sadly passed away, leaving him to stray for two months before coming into the charity’s care. He is understandably nervous in new situations and appears to have experienced stress in his past, resulting in him being wary of direct approaches to his face.
Sally says: “We’re hoping to find Alba a calm, quiet home with patient, gentle owners who can give him time to adjust.
“Once he trusts you, he’s incredibly affectionate – he loves sitting on laps, getting back massages, being brushed and greeting you with a “mauw!”
“Alba is currently on a diet after arriving slightly overweight, and this will need to be continued. He may enjoy the company of another sociable, older cat to help bring him out of his shell. He loves chatting with nearby cats, but he would also be happy as the only pet. He needs access to a safe garden in a quiet area, as he wouldn’t cope in a busy residential setting.”
