Aberlour, Scotland’s Children’s Charity has a new scheme offering much-needed financial support for families and individuals, in the Dumfries and Annandale & Eskdale areas.
Aberlour work incredibly hard to support the local community and they have stepped up even further during this COVID-19 situation. With an army of 20 plus volunteers and staff, the Dumfries and Galloway team have delivered over 15,000 meals to vulnerable elderly/families and individuals in the local area.
While continuing to provide support with meals and food parcels, Aberlour now want to also help families and individuals with their financial situation, through the Supporting Communities Fund, from the Scottish Government.
The help is available in the form of phone or email support, tailored to your individual need through local money coach Eileen Adamson of Your Money Sorted. Eileen has experience of working with many clients, helping families and individuals with a range of financial issues, but this project will focus mainly on the following:
What to do about debts
Where to access information
Where to access grants/loans etc
Budgeting and banking
Building a household emergency fund
Reducing costs and comparing suppliers
Maximising benefits
Increasing income in simple ways
Technology to assist with money management
Fran, who previously worked with Eileen said:
“It’s been just excellent. I didn’t feel I had a life – I was so bogged down I was drowning. You have totally changed my life.”
This support is available to anyone in need in Dumfries or in Annandale and Eskdale. For further details on the support available please contact Eileen, using any of the methods below.
