CASTLE DOUGLAS based firm Bryan Swales Auto Repairs has generously donated a substantial sum of money to help fund the brand new ‘Soap Box Derby‘ to be held on the towns highstreet this summer.
Bryan handed over the cheque for £447.50 tonight, January the 8th 2019 at his garage on the Sation Yard in Castle Douglas.
Bryan said “The Money has been raised from MOTs carried out between October and December. “
Event orgainiser Matt McKerlie Said “We Are so thankful for the support from Bryan. A fantastic gesture from a local buisness wishing to see the Castle Douglas Soap Box Derby become a key part in the towns event for the foreseeable future.”
The community event which will be included in the Castle Douglas Civic events programe this year on Sunday the 7th of July 2019 at 12.00 noon on King Street, needs to raise £5000 minumum to cover the expenses for the initial outlay just for the minimum requirements. if you would like to donate, they have a just giving page, click HERE for more info.
