Competition Challenges Children To Say Thank You To Region’s Volunteers

A children’s art competition has been launched to say thank you to Dumfries and Galloway’s volunteers.

The competition, across three age categories, asks children to create an A4 poster with a thank you message for volunteers, for all the work they have been doing during the lockdown and throughout the last 12 months.

Organised by Third Sector Dumfries and Galloway, the competition will see all entries feature online during Volunteers’ Week from Monday to Sunday June 1-7.

Children can draw, paint or use any other creative method to make a poster featuring volunteers with the thank you message.

The volunteers could be walking a dog, cutting grass, delivering or doing shopping, on the telephone, or doing any of the hundreds of activities that take place across the region.

Entries should include the children’s name and age, which will be displayed with their entry.

Once complete, snap a picture of the poster and send it to [email protected] or you can also direct message it to TSDG’s Facebook page @thirdsectordg.

Posters should be submitted by 5pm Friday May 29 and winner prizes will be announced at the end of Volunteers’ Week in age groups 0-8, 9-12 and 13-16.
