Alan Somerville, Senior Development Officer of Cunninghame Housing Association recently presented a cheque for £500 to members of the Eastriggs and Dornock Bowling Club.

Eastriggs and Dornock Bowling Club is based in Eastriggs with a membership ranging in ages from 10 to 80+ years old who all benefit from having a local bowling club on their doorstep. The club is open to members and non-members and proves to be a focal point and asset in the village. Anyone interested in joining the club for the new season should contact the club directly. The club also supports many in the local community with most recently making a considerable donation to assist with the purchase of a defibrillator unit in the area.

To provide such a facility involves a lot of volunteering and financial support. The funding provided by Cunninghame Housing Association is assisting with the essential running costs of the club.

Janet Strang, Chairperson of CHA commented, “We are delighted to be able to provide financial support to Eastriggs and Dornock Bowling Club. It is great to see such a facility available to many providing opportunities for people of all ages and based in a community where the Association have future development plans”.

The funding for the Eastriggs and Dornock Bowling Club came from the Associations

“Making Our Communities a Better Places Fund” which operates throughout the year (1 st April to 31 st March) until the allocated funding is exhausted.
