Dumfries and Galloway Council has established a multi-agency working group to promote events and tourism in Dumfries and Galloway from December 2020 to 2021.
The Events and Tourism Working group has a budget of £20k that they hope will rise to £30k.
In the short term, the group is going to run a £2k Christmas marketing campaign to promote our town centres and any events taking place in the town centres in the Christmas period. They want to make an early start on this campaign to encourage a shop local ethos and to promote D&G businesses. The campaign is currently being designed and will utilise DGC channels of promotion.
The group will conduct its work with the utmost sensitivities around public health and community concerns re events taking place – to avoid any confusion ythey specifically referring to small scale events that have community support and fully comply with the latest Government guidance.
This is a great opportunity for businesses of all types who are running Christmas promotions, sales, events, etc, to get further promotion.
